NPO法人メリープロジェクトのパートナーシップとして、国際NGOアースチャイルド協会は南アフリカのダーバンで行われたCOP17で、気候変動に関するアクションを起こす子どもたちの参加を支持するためにエキシビジョンスペースを主催した。
メリープロジェクトの希望あふれる被災地の子どもたちの笑顔の傘とメリーファーミングキットはアースチャイルド協会の使命を強化する理想的なアイディアであり、コラボレーションの象徴としてエキシビジョンスペースに飾られた。
ネパール、ブラジル、ガーナ、ケニヤ、ナイジェリアなどのアースチャイルド協会のチームは既にメリープロジェクトとのコラボレーションの準備が整っており、各地で植樹を行い、また、その土地の子どもたちとその家族の社会への適応能力を高めるために動き出している。

2012年にブラジルのリオで開催される地球サミット2012 リオ+20に向かって、世界中の子どもたちと共に彼らのために2.2億本の木を植え、母なる地球のより良い未来を気付くために我々は共に活動を進めていきます。

In partnership with the MERRY project, Earth Child Institute (ECI) hosted an exhibition space at UNFCCC COP17 in Durban, South Africa to advocate for the participation of children in local climate change action.
The MERRY umbrella’s which graphically display the resilience of our world’s smiling children in post-disaster situations, together with MERRY farm school kits were an ideal complement to Earth Child Institute’s policy advocacy for inclusion of children.
ECI country teams in Nepal, Brazil, Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria are ready to work together with the MERRY team moving forward to plant trees and to build adaptive capacity of children and their families.

Moving toward Rio+20 Earth Summit and beyond, Earth Child Institute and the MERRY project are working together to raise funds to meet our goal of planting 2.2 billion trees with and for the world’s children to re-energize and re-forest Mother Earth.
