"Miyashige Daikon" from Haruhicho (March 19th) Last Updated 19/MAR/2005 Miyashige Daikon is the representative specialty food of Haruhicho. Unfortunatelly, its planting amount had decreased after the Pacific War and none is grown presently. The kids regenerated the lost daikon with Japanese paper. They cut out the leaves first, then wrapped natural cotton stuffing in Japanese papers, rolled them up, folded them and so on. The handicraft was a little difficult even for adults, but the kids did it so well! The bumper crop of Miyashige Daikon had returned there! |
