Merry in KOBE, a collection of photographs taken by Mizutani around Kobe has been released. This book was created from the photo exhibition "Merry in KOBE 2001" which was held in gratitude for the support given after the Great Hanshin Earthquake. It was held as a part of the 21st Century Kobe Restoration Commemorative Project. The book also includes part of the photographs taken for "Merry in Kobe 2002," the project which welcomed people visiting Kobe for the FIFA World Cup with posters of smiles. Merry exhibitions have been held around the world including Harajuku and London. Merry in KOBE also features the history of the Merry Project, interviews with the photographed people, and comments by journalist Tetsuya Chikushi.
