Like many western teenagers, my fascination with tokyo began with Otomo's manga "AKIRA", which made me phantasize about the ultimate complexity of this city, with its unwriten codes and rules, and the neo-technological-cyber-punkish attitude of the heroes.
A few years later, while stepping out of a club in Tokyo at 4 in the morning, I finally encoutered this mystic underground world : in front of me were passing dozens of "clown" bikers, without helmets, wearing traditional Japanese outfits with ideograms, carrying wooden sticks and baseball bats, all this in a huge roar of exhaust brutality.
